kecewa.

attreviasamo

taken at my aunt's pondok near her paddy field few months ago.

there is nothing more satisfying than having to read good book at those kinda places.

read the book when it first came to malaysia. i have to admit since i am not a big fan of elizabeth gilbert, ive only read her book twice (committed n the last american man) - this book is beautiful. it describes a whole lot of feelings and what a person really wants in life. i learnt a bunch of thinks about life too, like, are u ready to leave everything u have now just to know urself better, or, what is the word for me. n the fact that the writer travelled to three different region just to know herself better. just to think of it, this book made me realized that there is so much more in life than my own life. this life is about your faith, love and yeah, agreed totally, food. i laughed, i cried when im with this book.

n yeah, i watched the movie, with nad. its pretty long, the duration (more than 2 hours), but still, couldnt put in everything. they left out some details, but im thankful that they didnt left out the ones that is significant to the story. i enjoyed the movie too, especially when u have julia roberts as Liz n she looks awesome in there. whatever that she wears in that movie, is good on her. n the is some maturity level that she has that made her suitable for the character. n yeah, the movie was beautiful too, n i really2 enjoyed the part when she was in italy. great city, beautiful food, awesome ppl. not as good as the story depicted in the book, but, im satisfied enough with the movie. i couldnt ask for more.

n yeah, both the book n the movie made me think of a word for myself - pening ;P

across the borders.

Educationally: - they try to get us back into the malaysian education system (which is good) but, the fact that we have learned in better environment (e.g , where our creativity is much appreciated), i, think we didnt really get the best learning experience. especially when we have to always follow what the lecturers want, not what we want.they treated us like kids. most importantly, i think the subjects are pretty much redundant, most lecturers will be talking about the same thing. i find that it is much more busy and more work here (i dont mind if i have lots of work, but i enjoy doing it.the thing is - i dont.)

Culturally: its good to be back at malaysia where we can apply what we have learned in australia. the good things that the australians do (e.g - lining up for your turn, bring reusable bag, walk more), and share it with people here. and its good to be back at malaysia, where my heart is.

Socially:my experience in australia has taught me a whole lot about my social life. i really enjoy meeting people and share our life experiences. especially when i can practice my english with them. i think, its pretty hard to do it here at ipba because of the 'hostel' environment where we have curfew and we cant bring friends into ipba. because of the workloads, i think most people will end up spending time with ipba people.

Psychologically: if i can ask something that will make me happy, i will ask to do my 4th year in QUT.thats it. especially the study part, i can almost feel demotivated to teach and being a teacher, or more accurately, be in the system. i always feel good when im at qut. its not about the grades, its about how the lecturers treated you, respect you and letting you experience the world like how you should do. the rules in ipba is really annoying. we had to do community service for a week because we did not attend an assembly , but have they ever thought of why we didnt go? and when i was helping danial as his assistant for international week, out of sudden, there is this lecturer told us that he , and most of ipba people doesnt like us and think that we are too outspoken and forgetting malaysian culture (why in the world they send us overseas, and not letting we improving ourselves and still be the same person that we use to be??). the funny thing is, we normally volunteered ourselves to help ipba organising things.if u ask my opinion, for the sake of future generation, let the students do their last year in qut, or dont send them overseas at all.or else, they will experience the same thing what most of us did - demotivated.

Physically: ipba. not the best environment for learning, i know. but at least they can help improving it. but they didnt. we have to wait for few months until the lcd projector in our lecture hall can work normally (that is after we wrote a petition straight to our director, asking him to fix the problem). and ipba hostels, you saw it. nothing to mention here. a picture speaks a thousand words.

Economically?: we are ok and more secure in this because our parents are here. although we are not allowed to work, i think it is ok if you live a normal life. i dont think we are able to work with such workloads in ipba.

p/s : when i say when they try to get us back in the system, and i wrote which is good, i dun mean the system, but the fact that everyone needs to get back to their root to reflect who they are.

jesus lives in south korea

'Excuse me Miss, do you have 5 minutes? I just need 5 minutes and your life will change!'

i went to klpac yesterday to watch a play by mark beau de silva entitled 'jesus lives in south korea'. it supposed to be a comedy drama, but i end up thinking dat dis is a pretty heavy play about beliefs (urself and god). they did injected sum comedy, but it is not dat obvious to call it a comedy drama. i duno. dats what i think.

i was there with ash n sham, n we agreed dat we have to continuously think about what they say during the play. n like wat sham said ' if its possible, i wana jot down apa derang cakap, sbb takut terlupa n think about it after the play'.

the actor n the actresses were good. i didnt see anyone is better than the rest or vice versa, because they are all the same. they gave the same impact. n its a good one.

very simple setting. it reminds me of the macbeth play that i watched there, few years ago by some australian production. very simple setting, but it is sufficient for the whole play.

overall, a good play to watch. but if u r planning to watch this play n hoping to crack your head with laughter during the whole 90 mins, u r wrong because it requires thinking. a whole lot of it.

les miserables

Il dort. Quoique le sort fut pour lui bien etrange,
Il vivait. Il mourut quand il n'eut plus son ange.
La chose simplement d'elle-meme arriva,
Comme la nuit se fait lorsque le jour s'en va.

Guan is a no-nonsense swimming instructor who teaches kids swimming at public pools. Unbeknownst to him, he has become an object of affection (and desire!) Will Guan's admirers discover what's lurking beneath his seemingly calm surface?

looking forward to watch dis when i gt back to malaysia next month.

the true story of butterfish

Curtis is no longer a rock star. His dad is dead, his wife has left him, he's purchased a house in Kenmore online and his advertising executive gay brother is giving him lectures on family values. With his chart-topping band, Butterfish, Curtis Holland lived the clichéd rock star dream, residing in Route 66 motels, travelling in custom-built buses and getting married between a sound-check and a gig in Nevada.

When Annaliese Winter walks down Curtis Holland's front path, he's ill-prepared for a sixteen-year-old schoolgirl who sings like a lark and is a confounding cocktail of adult and child. So when Curtis receives an invitation to dinner from Annaliese's mother, Kate, he is surprised when he not only accepts but after an evening of burnt casserole and home truths he finds himself being drawn to this remarkably unremarkable family. However when forever young Derek flies in from LA and visits the burbs, a roadcase full of resentments float to the surface.

Filled with acute observation, humour and tenderness, Butterfish is Nick Earls at his very best.

i went to see this play last week on thursday.
it was ok.
but it let me thinks,
there is more to life than fame.

here i am, smiling

Amin Farid
There I went acknowledging the new president and forgot about congratulating the former president for her hard work. I am an advocator of women's rights and it warms my heart to know that the leader who had effectively led the student body to va...rious successes within the past academic year is a lady. And one hell of a talented lady she is. I don't usually compliment others, but for you Ms Syarifah Nazurah, I am all praise. :) I believe you have done so much in the past year to have garnered the utmost respect from your fellow peers and not forgetting me :) So I congratulate you for having a completed a successful year and I wish you all the best in your future endeavours. There's lots more to do out there. A leader has vision. I hope you have envisioned for a brighter and better future. Insya-allah. Continue to shine :)

the princhesters

eleven, twelve, thirteen, fourteen,
and i wash the finger clean,
fifteen, sixteen, seventeen, eighteen,
at the sink, near the canteen,
nineteen and then twenty,
there goes my fish, 'Siti',
now, i want a new pet,
then, i call it Sani, the cat.

i wrote it for one of my assignments, creating few tasks for a unit of work based on the Malaysian English Year 2 Textbook. Sing it with the tune of this nursery rhyme :

One two three for five
Once i caught a fish alive
Six seven eight nine ten
Then i let it go again
Why did you let it go
Because it bit my finger so
Which finger did it bite?
This little finger on my right

Kudos to all my homies, the princhesters.
wana create a group like the Wiggles, someday?
